Almuñecar is situated in far south of the Granada Province, right at the centre of the Costa Tropical. Nerja (Málaga Privince) is to the west and Motril to the east. Almuñecar benefits from both south west and south east winds and is prodected from the cold north winds by the series of mountains such al Luijar, Guajares, Cabra Montés and Almijara which help maintain tempratures between 18º and 25º C in winter and moderate in summer
